







Mobitel, trading as "Beeline" is the newest mobile carrier operating in Georgia. The company began operating in March 2007, launching its mobile network in March 1997. Beeline has been part of group of companies of Veon, after the group (then Vimpelcom) secured a 51% stake in July 2006. Veon is the leading international provider of telecommunication services in 14 countries with its head office located in Amsterdam.
The company operates 2G GSM services on 900 and 1800 MHz bands. 4G LTE services were launched in February 2015 over the B20 (800 MHz) band, after being awarded a 10 MHz licence in January. Beeline secured a 2100 MHz licence in January 2017, to switch on a B1 (2100 MHz) 3G service in March that year.
