Kvareli Wine Cave is located in Kakheti region, in the area of town Kvareli, near the bank of river Alazani, carved in the slopes of the Greater Caucasus Mountain Range.
The tunnel construction started in 1950s for military purposes. Tunnel turned out to be not that useful for initial purposes, so it was converted into the storage of Kakheti's finest wines. The collection holds 25 000 bottles of high quality wine.
From 2011 the winery arrayed the surrounded area with special facilities to the complex like Georgian water mill, traditional Georgian bakery “Tone”, Chacha making facility, traditional Georgian Marani with Satsnakheli (Georgian traditional wooden winepress), qvevris (traditional clay vessel) etc.
